OGS announces Empire State Plaza concert and festival lineup

The Charlie Daniels band will be playing at the New York State Food Festival at the Empire State Plaza on August 9.

The Office of General Services announced the schedule and line-up for its Summer at the Plaza concerts and festivals, which begin June 28. The Charlie Daniels Band, Cracker and the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band are some of the free performances scheduled for the plaza this summer.

“Every year thousands of people come to our free Summer At the Plaza events with their families, neighbors, and friends to enjoy great entertainment, delicious food, and the region’s best fireworks show at New York state’s 4th of July Celebration,” said OGS Commissioner RoAnn Destito said.

The concert and festival schedule includes:

  • Wednesday, June 28, 5 – 8 p.m. Reggae Night featuring Freddie McGregor
  • Tuesday, July 4, 3 – 10 p.m. New York State’s 4th of July Celebration Presented by Price Chopper and Market 32 featuring the United State Air Force Heritage of America Band
  • Wednesday, July 12, 5 – 8 p.m. Sam Roberts Band with special guest Rechorduroys
  • Saturday, July 15, Noon – 5 p.m. Kids Day Presented by MVP Health Plans and featuring Meet and Greet with PJ Masks and Storytime performance with Pete the Cat.
  • Wednesday, July 19, 5 – 8 p.m. Soul Asylum with special guest Cracker
  • Wednesday, July 26, 5 – 8 p.m. Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires
  • Saturday, August 5, 2 – 7 p.m. The Black Arts and Cultural Festival featuring Jody Watley and Shalamar Reloaded
  • Wednesday, August 9, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. New York State Food Festival featuring The Charlie Daniels Band
  • Wednesday, September 13, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Jazz Night featuring Alex Torres
  • Wednesday, September 20, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Jazz Night featuring Hot Club of Saratoga
